Metadata for Confluence Cloud

Metadata for Confluence Cloud data residency information

This page explains data residency for the Metadata for Confluence Cloud app. The Metadata for Confluence Cloud app currently stores 2 kinds of data:

Application Data

The actual application data includes configuration and Metadata values. This data is handled as follows:

  • Metadata Values: These are stored entirely in the core application (your Confluence Cloud instance). This means the data is stored where your Confluence Cloud instance is hosted. For more details, please refer to Atlassian's documentation on Data Residency.

  • Content Category Definitions: Category definitions and their field structures are stored using Atlassian Forge Custom Entities. This data is hosted and secured by Atlassian's Forge infrastructure. For more details, please refer to Atlassian documentation on Security for Forge apps.

Supplementary Data

Supplemental data about the Confluence instances that have the app installed.

This data is stored outside the core application in a database of a data center located in the Netherlands (European Union).
