Handling Refused Conversions
If the conversion tool refuses to process a page, it is typically because the macros are "nested" in a way that the tool cannot safely untangle. To fix this, you must manually unnest the content.
How to unnest macros
To prepare your page for a successful automatic conversion, follow these steps:
-
Identify the conflict: Review the page to locate any unsupported macros. Rich macros such as Expand or nested Tab Groups are not supported for automatic conversion.
-
Edit the page: Open the Confluence editor.
-
Move the content:
-
Click on the nested macro (e.g., the Code Block or the inner Tab Group).
-
Drag it outside of its parent container so it sits directly on the page.
-
If dragging is difficult, cut the macro (Cmd/Ctrl + X) and paste it (Cmd/Ctrl + V) onto a new line outside the container.
-
-
Delete empty containers: If the parent macro is now empty, delete it.
-
Publish and Retry: Save the page and trigger the automatic conversion again.
After an automatic conversion, always check the page in View mode to ensure that:
-
All tab content is visible.
-
The layout matches your expectations.
