Out of Office Sync for Jira and Microsoft

Field "Out-of-office status (assignee)" is not visible to me

Our app has a special custom field called Out-of-office status (assignee) for use in Automation rules.

That field should be visible to all users, or at least to all Jira admins and space admins. If this is not the case, i.e., the field is not visible to you, then do the following to troubleshoot it:

  1. Ensure the field exists. Go to global administration “Work items” → “Fields” and in the list of fields search for “Out-of-office status (assignee)”.

    1. If the field does not exist: Reinstall the app.

    2. If that does not help, contact us for support.

  2. Ensure the field is visible to you in at least one Jira space (aka. “project”). As a general rule, in Jira, a field is visible to a user only if the user has access to spaces where the field is used.

    1. For company-managed spaces, this is the case by default; i.e., the field is available in those spaces.

    2. For team-managed spaces, fields often have to be added manually. See Jira’s documentation about that.

For Jira sites used productively, this is usually not a problem because some company-managed projects are already there.

But in sites used for testing (called “sandboxes”) sometimes only a few spaces exist, and therefore the described problem can occur. In those cases, please create a company-managed project as a workaround, as described above.
