Forge Migration for Elevatic Cloud Apps

Introduction

Atlassian is retiring the legacy Connect app development framework in January 31, 2027:. To ensure our apps remain secure, high-performing, and fully supported, Elevatic is proactively migrating our entire Cloud app portfolio to the Atlassian Forge platform.

This page provides an overview of our migration status, the benefits of Forge, and what you can expect as a customer during this transition.

Why are we migrating to Forge?

Forge is Atlassian’s modern, cloud-native development platform. By moving our apps to Forge, we provide several key advantages:

Enhanced security: Forge apps run within Atlassian’s infrastructure and use a "zero-trust" isolation model.
Data residency: Better alignment with Atlassian’s data residency capabilities, ensuring your data stays where it belongs.
Improved performance: Reduced latency through serverless functions and deeper integration with Jira and Confluence.
Future-proofing: Continued access to the latest Atlassian features and security patches.

Important dates

Please keep the following Atlassian milestones in mind:

September 17, 2025: No new Connect apps allowed in the Marketplace.
March 2026: No further updates permitted for legacy Connect apps.
January 2027: Official End-of-Support for the Connect framework.

What do I need to do?

In most cases, no action is required from you.

We are handling the migration on the backend. When an app is fully migrated to Forge, it will be updated automatically via the Atlassian Marketplace.

Action required for closed networks

If your organization uses a firewall or a proxy to restrict internet access, you must update your allowlist to include Atlassian's Forge infrastructure. Failure to do so may result in macros failing to load (e.g., getting stuck on a "Loading" screen).

Please ensure the following domain is whitelisted as a wildcard:

*.cdn.prod.atlassian-dev.net

This domain must be whitelisted as a wildcard (*). Subdomain labels are randomized per app and installation, so whitelisting specific hosts is not possible.

Migration roadmap and status

We have committed to migrating all our apps before the January 2027 End-of-Support (EOS) deadline. Below is the current status of our Cloud apps:

Atlassian has introduced a Legacy Badge in App Administration. This badge identifies any apps that still use Connect modules and components, even if they have been migrated to Forge.

Some of these modules are crucial for ensuring a smooth transition for all customers, and they are being gradually phased out. Please be assured that no new app versions will use Connect modules after the end-of-support date. Make sure to update the app whenever new updates are available.

"Connect on Forge" means the app is already running on the Forge infrastructure while still utilizing some Connect components. This is a phased approach to ensure a seamless transition without downtime.

Frequently asked questions

Will there be any downtime during the migration?
No. We use a "Connect-on-Forge" approach that allows us to migrate functionality incrementally without interrupting your service.

Will my data be affected?
No. Your app data and configurations will remain intact. In fact, Forge allows for even better data residency controls in the future.
