SharePoint Connector for Confluence - Cloud

Where is my data stored?

SharePoint Connector for Confluence is a client-side solution. It stores no data on Elevatic servers or in any Elevatic infrastructure. The data that is stored lives either inside your Atlassian instance or inside your own SharePoint environment, as described below.

Configuration settings

The app stores no general configuration settings. It retrieves the content it needs through the Microsoft Graph API in the context of the signed-in user, so there is no separate settings store to keep.

What the Confluence app stores

For the Confluence app, only the configuration needed to render the embedded content is stored, as macro properties inside your Atlassian instance. This data resides within Atlassian and is protected by the security of Confluence as the host application.

The stored macro properties are:

  • SharePoint Online Document macro: document URL, document ID, embed URL, file type, and display type.

  • SharePoint Online List macro: list ID, list type, SharePoint site URL, and starting folder ID.

What the SharePoint web part stores

If you embed Confluence pages in SharePoint with the Confluence Page Embedder web part, the following is stored in the web part properties, inside your own SharePoint environment:

  • Confluence page title

  • Confluence page embed URL (which contains the page ID)

  • Confluence page URL

This data resides within your SharePoint environment and is used only during the browser session to render the Confluence page.

Where the data is located

Because the app stores no data on its own servers, the location of your content data follows your SharePoint instance. The app's own web resources are hosted in an Azure web container in the West Europe region and delivered through an Azure CDN for performance.
