Why are some SharePoint sites, lists, or documents missing when I configure a macro?

Some SharePoint content, such as sites, lists, or documents, can appear to be missing when you search or filter in the SharePoint Online Document or SharePoint Online List macro editor. There are several possible causes. Check them in order.

1. Confirm you have access to the content

You can only embed SharePoint content you have access to. Try opening the site, list, or document in SharePoint Online. If you can't open it there, request access from the site owner.

SharePoint can exclude a document library from search. In the library's Settings, open Advanced Settings and set the option that allows items to appear in search results to Yes. It takes a few minutes for the change to take effect.

3. Wait for search to crawl the content

The macros rely on SharePoint search having crawled your sites, lists, and documents. New content usually takes a few minutes to be crawled. To check, search for the content in SharePoint Online search directly. If it doesn't appear there yet, give it some time. There is no way to speed this up.

4. Contact support

If new content still doesn't appear in SharePoint search after a few days, contact Microsoft support, since the issue is on the SharePoint side. If SharePoint search finds the content but it is still missing in the macros, contact Elevatic support.
