Meridian People & Skills Hub reads your work in Jira and Confluence on your behalf. Atlassian asks you once to allow that. If you declined or closed that dialog, the app cannot do anything for you, while your colleagues use it normally.
What you see
The app shows no content for you, or an error message, in the hub and in the Get expert advice panel on a Jira issue. Other people are not affected.
Why this happens
Atlassian shows a dialog titled Access required the first time you open the app. The dialog asks you to grant access to Jira and Confluence content on your behalf, but it does not name the app that is asking, so it is easy to decline it out of caution.
Without that grant the app cannot read anything for you. It also cannot tell that the grant is missing, so you get a generic error instead of a message that explains the real cause.
What to do
-
Open the hub again. Atlassian shows the dialog the next time you open the app.
-
Grant the access, then reload the page.
-
If the app still does not work, open it once in a private or incognito browser window and grant the access there. Accepting in your normal session does not always repair an account that declined earlier.
Result
The hub loads your skills profile, and expert search returns results. The grant is also what lets the app show you the evidence behind a skill with your own permissions, see Check the evidence behind a skill.
If that did not help
Ask your Jira admin to check whether the app is set up at all, see No skills appear in profiles. If the app is set up and your colleagues can use it, contact Elevatic support.
Atlassian controls when that dialog reappears, not the app.
