Meridian People & Skills Hub

What happens to my data when my Atlassian account is deleted?

The app deletes your data on its own, without anyone having to request it.

Once a week, Meridian People & Skills Hub checks the accounts it stores data for with Atlassian's personal data API and asks which of them have been closed. For every account that Atlassian reports as closed, the app deletes:

  • All skills on that person's profile

  • All open suggestions

  • All blocked skills

  • The person's settings document, which holds the time of their last skill review

Evidence entries belong to the skills, so they disappear with them.

Because the app stores no names, email addresses, or avatars, there is nothing else to clean up. Those fields are always read from Atlassian at display time.

The cleanup runs on a weekly schedule, so an account that Atlassian reports as closed has its data removed within about a week. The run is resumable: If it does not finish, the next one continues where it stopped, so no account is skipped.

This follows Atlassian's user privacy guide for app developers, which requires apps to act on deletion within a fixed period.

Deleting single skills

This page is about a deleted Atlassian account. To take one skill off your profile while your account stays active, see Remove a skill.
